Bi Luo Chun is a traditional and renowned Chinese tea, considered one of the top ten famous teas in China. It belongs to the category of green tea and has a history of over 1000 years. Bi Luo Chun is produced in the Dongting Mountain and Xidongting Mountain areas of Wuxian County, Taihu Lake, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, hence it is also known as “Dongting Bi Luo Chun.”

During the Tang Dynasty, Bi Luo Chun tea was listed as a tribute tea. It was referred to by ancient people as “Gongfu Tea” or “Xinxue Tea.” For premium Bi Luo Chun, it takes around 60,000 to 70,000 tea buds to produce 0.5 kilograms of dried tea. The processed dry leaves are tightly twisted, revealing white downy hairs, and have a silver-green color that is alluring and captivating. The leaves are curled into spiral shapes, resembling snail shells. As it is harvested in spring, it is named “Bi Luo Chun,” which means “Green Snail Spring.

【Brewing Method】

  1. Take an appropriate amount of Biluochun Tea and place it in a brewing vessel.
  2. It is recommended to use water at a temperature of 80°C-85°C to preserve the tea’s lively flavor.
  3. Adjust the ratio of tea leaves to water according to personal preference, generally around 1 gram of tea leaves to 50 milliliters of water.
  4. The first infusion should last approximately 1-2 minutes, with subsequent infusions gradually increasing in brewing time.
  5. Keep the lid of the teapot open between infusions to allow the hot and moist leaves to cool, preserving the freshness of the tea.
